Welwitschia Hospital, Walvis Bay, Namibia

Welwitschia Hospital

Opened in 1998, The Welwitschia Hospital was launched to meet the need for healthcare in what was then a typically harbor town of Walvis Bay. For its small community, the operations of Welwitschia were matched to the laid-back lifestyle of the town.

A quick drive through town today will show a burgeoning Harbour, with a long line of Passenger and Cargo vessels waiting to berth; Mining and Fishing remain a core aspect of the economic landscape; construction is at an all-time high, and the population is experiencing a call-to-action in the form of economic and social pressures of growth. It is a great time to be in the City of Walvis Bay.

Erongo Medical Group, proprietor of the Welwitschia Hospital, has heeded this call with a dramatic show of commitment to the growing city of Walvis Bay. Whilst striving to retain the personal care so central to our identity, we have also proceeded to initiate innovative and high-tech procedures and services, to help our City keep up with its runaway growth curve. From the initiation of the First Lung Clinic in Namibia, to the installation of the first Low-Dose CT machine in Africa, the last few years have seen Welwitschia boast an unmatched number of contemporary firsts.

On this website, you will find the focused eye of progress and innovation. You will find information on how to access the services on and off the Hospital Campus, but most of all, you will be met with the open hand of personal service, all building up to one promise:

We Care.
