Porter

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To transport patients around the hospital, deliver and collect documentation and supplies to other wards.
  • Assist with the bathing and feeding of patients where appropriate.
  • Deliver prescriptions/credits between the Pharmacy and the wards, specimens to the Laboratory and Radiology reports to consulting rooms.
  • Moving of medical equipment.
  • Ad hoc tasks as operationally required

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Namibian Citizen.
  • Grade 12 plus with at least 1 year’s relevant experience.
  • Physically strong, fit and able to cope with lifting weight and mobilizing patients and equipment.
  • Fully proficient in English.
  • Proficiency in any other Namibian local languages will be an added advantage.
  • Have a friendly, helpful and compassionate manner. Demonstrate the ability to act calmly and quickly in emergencies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions.
  • Availability and willingness to work day and night shifts, overtime, weekends, Public Holidays and in all units.
  • A disposition towards quality and excellent patient care.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of infection control, health and safety will be an advantage.

Health Care Supporter

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients. Moving patients between departments (e.g. from wards to theatre/x-rays and back).
  • Taking supplies to and from wards.
  • Taking samples to and from laboratories.
  • Moving specialist apparatus around the hospital.
  • Daily change bed linen.
  • Ad hoc tasks as instructed by the nursing management team.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Namibian Citizen.
  • Grade 12 plus Caregiver Certificate with at least 1 year’s working experience.

  • Maternity Ward

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide trusted nursing care to patients and clients of Welwitschia Hospital in accordance with the Scope of Practice of an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Perform and participate within delegated team and unit.
  • Take responsibility for own outputs and standards of care.
  • Contribute to a healing and safe environment by upholding infection control measures and health & safety standards within delegated unit.
  • Any general nursing or ad hoc duties as delegated by the Nursing Managers or Registered Nurse leading the shift.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Namibian Citizenship or eligible to work in Namibia.
  • Registered with the HPCNA as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Enrolled Nurse (Midwife) Certificate.
  • 3 Years’ working experience as an Enrolled Nurse Midwife within a Maternity/Paediatric/General and/or Surgical Ward.
  • Fully proficient in English.
  • Proficiency in any other Namibian local language will be an added advantage.
  • Disposition toward excellence and quality patient care.
  • High levels of energy and tolerance for stress.
  • Availability and willingness to work in all units, shifts (day and night), over weekends, Public Holidays and overtime in accordance with the operational requirements of the unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide trusted nursing care to patients and clients of Welwitschia Hospital in accordance with the Scope of Practice of a Registered Nurse.
  • Take responsibility for own and delegated shift’s work outputs and standards of care.
  • Identify, prevent and report medico-legal risks and adverse events within delegated unit.
  • Ensure a therapeutic and safe environment by maintaining patient safety standards within allocated unit.
  • Any general nursing or ad hoc duties as delegated by the Nursing Managers.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Namibian Citizenship or eligible to work in Namibia.
  • Registered with the HPCNA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Registered Nurse Qualification.
  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Critical Care (Adult ICU applicants).
  • 4 Years' working experience as a Registered Nurse within an Adult ICU/General/Surgical Ward.
  • Fully proficient in English. Proficiency in any other Namibian local language will be an added advantage.
  • Disposition towards excellence and quality patient care.
  • High levels of energy and tolerance for stress.
  • Availability and willingness to work in all units, shifts (day and night), over weekends, Public Holidays and overtime in accordance with the operational requirements of the unit.
